The Perse welcomes West End star for performing arts workshop
10 Mar 2014
Our pupils were delighted to welcome West End star – Cassandra Compton – to The Perse on Friday afternoon for a fantastic performing arts workshop on the hit musical, Les Miserables. Cassandra has played a number of West End roles including playing Eponine in Les Miserables for 12 months in 2007, and she was also a contestant on The X Factor back in 2004.
The pupils worked on improvisation with Cassandra, where they were required to create poor, starving characters that may have been on the street at the time of the French Revolution, in small groups. Then, with these characters in mind, they learned the song At the End of the Day and put it together with the actual choreography from the stage show.
All of the pupils had a fantastic afternoon, and we thank Cassandra for taking time out of her busy schedule to run this brilliant workshop.
