Going for gold at Roy Burrell Awards

5 Mar 2014

Last night, the Cambridge District Secondary Schools Sports Association (CDSSSA) hosted the annual Roy Burrell Awards at The Netherhall School. These awards celebrate the excellence, participation and sportsmanship of Year 11 students across Cambridgeshire.

Seven Year 11 pupils from The Perse attended the event to collect one of these prestigious awards, where Emily Fuller collected an award for squash, Ciaran Flaherty for athletics, Adam Gough for triathlon, Anthony Kattuman for hockey, Michael Pepper for cricket, Imogen Wigdahl for netball and Taranne Kendon for her achievements in trampolining.

The evening also gave the pupils the opportunity to listen to some truly inspirational stories from Olympic badminton medallist Gail Emms and John Willis, founder of the Power2Inspire charity.

Well done!
