Year 7 Arts Festival prize-winners announced
In conjunction with the Year 7 Arts Festival which took place at the end of November, the Art department ran a competition for all Year 7 pupils, where each pupil was required to design and make a leaf based on the theme of ‘Autumnal’.
Pupils were asked to consider what shape their leaf would take, what materials and techniques they would use, whether their response would be textural or 3D and what colours and tones they might use. Leaves could be realistic or abstract, based on imagination or observation.
Once everyone had completed their leaves, the entries were collated to form one, large collaborative tree which was displayed in the hall on the evening of the Arts Festival. The entries were all fantastic, and the following pupils were named as winners:
The ‘Showstopper’ Prize – Tom Roddis
1st Prize – Freddie Ancliff
2nd Prize – Olivia Clegg
The ‘Creativity’ Prize – Archie Bowman
The ‘Skills’ Prize – Sasha Karabasova
The ‘Materials’ Prize – Hugo Fung
The ‘Outside the Box’ Prize – Kirill Nezhentsev
