The Perse bounces to success in trampolining competition
Fourteen pupils from the Perse represented the School in Sunday’s Schools Regional Qualifier for trampolining.
James Able in Year 7 took home first place in the Under 13 Boys’ Elite category, where he did two ‘solid routines’, the second of which incorporated a double somersault and half twist.
Matthew Burson also put in a fantastic performance, coming thirteenth in the Under 13 Boys’ Elite Category, and there were excellent routines from the other members of the Perse team – many of whom are beginners, whose biggest challenge was to get used to the 6mm trampolines, which are considerably more bouncy than the School’s trampoline. The team secured some fantastic scores in what was many of the team’s first ever competition. Taranne Kendon in Year 11 also did brilliantly, performing two excellent routines in the Under 19 Girls’ elite category, finishing in a respectable 11th place.
The pupils were commended for their attitude and eagerness to compete, and they all look forward to the upcoming year of competitions and practices.
