Festive performances in full swing at the Prep

9 Dec 2013

The festive season is now upon us, and pupils at the Prep have been getting in the spirit by taking part in lots of Christmas productions.

Tuesday saw Year 3 pupils wow audiences with their performance of The Children’s Nativity. This was Year 3’s first chance to perform together and they produced a fantastic version of the nativity story. With songs written by the Prep’s new Director of Music, Paul Harris, Year 3 sung their way to Bethlehem and celebrated this traditional festive tale with superb acting and energetic dancing!

Year 4 also took to the stage to perform Tales of the Arabian Nights last week. This story of mystery and enchantment took the pupils back in time to hear about the life of Scheherazade, whose wonderful ability to invent stories kept a cursed Sultan entertained while treating the audience to some spectacular characters, songs and dances.

We are also looking forward to continuing the run of performances this week, with the Prep’s drama club – Centre Stage – putting on a production of Robin Hood on Monday. Year 5 and 6 will bring the Prep’s Christmas productions to a close with a fantastic showcase of their musical talents in their music concert on Tuesday.
