A Bug’s Life
Year 2 had an amazing interactive experience with rainforest creatures last week, when the ‘Bug Man’ visited the Pelican. As part of their work on adaptations and habitats, the children were able to touch and hold some incredible animals.
Everyone was amazed to watch the chameleon’s lightning fast tongue as it caught a grub, and the children were amazed to find out that iguanas have an eye on the top of their head so that they can look straight up to the top of the trees. They even bravely stroked and held a Mexican red-kneed tarantula and held constrictor snakes around their necks!
This was a fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable experience for all of the pupils which certainly won’t be forgotten.
