Potential engineers visit Engineering Festival
21 Oct 2013
A group of students from Years 11, 12 and 13 recently made the short trip down to Duxford Aerodrome to visit the Engineering Festival, organised by STEM Cambridgeshire. This regional event was for students to witness and learn of the importance and strength of engineering and its place in future global development and impact around the world. The day consisted of exhibits, talks and the chance for students to ‘be an engineer’ as they engaged in creative, problem solving activities that challenge whilst being enjoyable with defined, successful outcomes. All activities were led by engineers to show the enthusiasm that engineers have for their careers!
The students enjoyed the variety of activities and learning about the companies exhibiting. With many contacts made for future opportunities, the students and group leader Keith Wilkin, Head of Design and Technology wish to thank STEM Cambridgeshire for organising the event.
