Harvest Festival at the Pelican
Yesterday, the Pelican celebrated Harvest Festival at St John’s Church. Gifts of fresh produce were gratefully received and later taken to Jimmy’s Night Shelter in Cambridge, where they will be used to make meals for the city’s homeless. Canon Sue talked about the diversity of produce available to us and the children held up a range of different apples to illustrate her point. Songs were sung and poems read to celebrate the Harvest season. A collection on the day also raised money for St John’s Church.
