Another year of excellent A Level results at The Perse
For the fourth year in succession more than three quarters of Perse exam entries at A Level were graded at either A* or A (the national average in 2013 was 21.3%). The percentage A* rate was 33% (the national average in 2013 was 6.8%). These results will place The Perse amongst the best schools in the country.
Nearly 90% of the Upper Sixth achieved ABB grades or better, and thus fell into the Government’s ‘high achiever’ category. As there are no government restrictions on the number of undergraduates that universities can take from this category, students with ABB+ grades are well placed for entry into leading universities. Over half (79) of Perse students achieved A* or A grades (or Pre-U equivalents) in all of their subjects.
Head Ed Elliott commented:
“I am delighted to see so many Perse students doing so well. Securing top grades in demanding subjects is a real achievement and will allow students to progress to top universities, bypassing government number controls.
“This is a day for celebration but also a time to remind students that the School is open to provide support and advice if required”.
