Children in the Reception class at the Pelican were inspired to set up a dinosaur museum following a trip to the Sedgewick Museum.
Following initial work to define the features of a good museum, the children planned, prepared for and opened their own museum in School.
Every exhibit and activity was devised by the children themselves, with fantastic ideas from a ‘Feed the Dinosaur’ game to uncovering dinosaur bones like a real palaeontologist. Particularly popular among visitors was the Pterodactyl Fun Café which offered a hand-made dinosaur biscuit and a drink for a very reasonable 3p.
The children overcame many problems in order to bring the museum together and the final result was an outstanding achievement for such young curators.
