Sixth Form Berlin Trip
26 Mar 2013
Between 15th – 18th March twenty 6th Formers and three teachers (Mr Brunskill, Miss Challis and Mr Roberts) took part in the Berlin History trip.
Students covered a number of sights including: The Brandenburg gate, a guided tour of the Reichstag, the Jewish memorial, Soviet War memorial, the DDR-Museum, the museum of German Resistance, the German Historical Museum and a visit to the former headquarters of the East German state security police, the Stasi.
The highlight for many was a tour of the Berliner Unterwelten, a vast underground network of tunnels used during Allied air raids in the Second World War. Mr Roberts’ infectious enthusiasm for history made this a truly memorable visit for all concerned.
