National Success in Chamber Music Competition
14 Mar 2013
Two talented musical quartets from different ends of the school have qualified for the national finals of the prestigious Pro Corda Chamber Music Competition.
12 Perse groups reached the semi-final stage, and the U12 Violin Quartet and U19 Saxophone Quartet were two of only 20 groups in the country to go on to qualify for the finals.
The violinists from Year 7 (Yao-Chi Kuo, Kevin Zhang, George Harliono-Evans & Hannah Sirringhaus) impressed the judges by playing Concerto for 4 violins, Allegro (2nd Movement) by Georg Philipp Telemann ANT 105. The Saxophone quartet (made up of Sixth Formers Matthew Pass, Edward Muscutt, Jack Lockhart-White & Asher Ginsman) played Niehaus Jazz Suite no. 2.
Huge congratulations to all involved on this very impressive achievement.
