7N Raising Money One Step at a Time

15 Mar 2013

Over the last few weeks 7N have been raising money for the Scoliosis Association UK (SAUK), in partnership with the British Scoliosis Research Foundation (BSRF). Scoliosis is a debilitating spinal condition which affects many in the UK and these two charities help support those who suffer from it and their families.

7N had a ‘Guess the number of sweets in the bus’ competition, a huge Bake sale and, last month, they broke the world record for the fastest ascent up the 1,860 steps of the Empire State Building! They beat the previous time of 9 minutes, 33 seconds by 1 minute 36 seconds! There were 23 of them however and they did the climb in the New Block rather than make the trip all the way to New York – but it was still a very exciting and tense few minutes!

They huffed and puffed in their novelty sports wear (including wigs, medals, strangely positioned shin pads and silly noses) and have managed to raise over £650 for the charity. Well done!
