The Perse School

Half Term on the Slopes

This February half term 80 Perse pupils travelled to Alpe d’Huez in the French Alps on the annual school ski trip, accompanied by 10 teachers. Maddie Baron and Freddie Perkins (both pupils in Year 10) reflect on their experiences of the trip:

"After Saturday had been spent travelling to the Alps, we arrived at the hotel, got our boots and skis and headed off for an early night.

We started skiing the next morning in 7 groups based on ability with the teachers. We then had 2 hours of skiing with an instructor in our groups; which we had every day. These sessions were very useful and helped to develop us as skiers. The snow was fantastic all week but the visibility was varied – however we didn’t let this put us off. There were a variety of slopes making Alpe d’Huez the ideal resort for a school ski trip, hence why we are returning there next year.

As well as the skiing there were many activities for us to enjoy during the evenings, including ice-skating, quiz night and karaoke. We were also lucky enough to watch an ice-hockey match in the village, which was very aggressive.

We all had a great time and can’t wait to do it again."
