Keralan cookery spices up students’ skills

Keen Perse cooks from Years 11 and 12 mastered professional kitchen skills yesterday at one of Cambridge’s most highly regarded South Indian restaurants.
The Rice Boat owner Jacob Abraham taught students the techniques needed to prepare authentic dishes from Kerala. They also learnt about cooking in a commercial environment and how to source and use ingredients to expand their home cooking repertoires.
The Perse School’s enrichment cooking programme aims to teach students how to prepare healthy and delicious food so they can live well as university students and enjoy cooking for a lifetime. Sampling the dishes created is always popular too!
