Science Research Placements
20 Nov 2012
Congratulations to members of our Upper 6th who took part in Science Research placements over the Summer Holidays. All of them achieved prestigious Gold CREST awards and three of them were also holders of Nuffield Bursaries.
Jonathan Lau took part in a Geogebra Project writing a programme to help mathematics students learn how to solve cubic equations; Felix Barker worked at ST Robotics developing a challenge kit for schools; Fergus Waugh developed simulation programmes at the Department of Engineering; Francois Sherwood worked on the acoustics of micro-perforated panels at Anglia Ruskin and George Davies worked on a confidential project at Cambridge Consultants. Lucy Morgan gave an excellent presentation at the awards ceremony about her research into biotinylation of close-proximity proteins at The Babraham Institute.
If you are aware of any research scientists or educationalists in the Cambridge area who might have an interesting 4-week project that might suit a bright, well-motivated student next July or August, please contact the Head of Science, Mr Burrows at email@example.com
