Flying with Wings
2 Oct 2012
Congratulations to Corporal Oscar Waldron, who has just completed the Air Cadet Pilot Scheme (ACPS) and has been awarded wings in recognition of his achievements. This prestigious scheme is awarded nationally to only thirty cadets.
The ACPS is a two week course based at Dundee airport, offering twelve hours of training and building on prior solo training in gliders. The eventual aim is for the cadets to fly these powered aircraft solo.
Oscar quickly achieved solo status, and went on to excel at more advanced flying manoeuvres and navigation.
The instructors and aircraft were provided by Tayside Aviation and the cadets learn to fly a Grob 115 Heron.
