Charity Postcard Competition

29 Jun 2012

During the month of May, the Art Department ran a charity competition for staff and pupils at the Upper to design or decorate a postcard. The theme was 'Celebration' – with the Queen's Jubilee and the London Olympics in mind – and the entrants could use any medium. The entries were then exhibited at the Art GCSE and A level show at the end of the month. Visitors were asked to pay 50p to vote for their favroutie postcard, with the proceeds being sent to Christel House School in India to help pay for some of their art materials.

First prize was awarded to Andrey Nezhentsev (Year 8), and second prize to Clara Balon (Year 7), Samir Chitnavis (Year 8) and Alice Galbraith-Olive (Year 9). The staff prize was won by Mr King (Geography).
