School talent show
16 May 2012
The School Talent Show took place on the 4th May in a packed lecture theatre. There was a cracking atmosphere throughout and the audience enjoyed a brilliant night of entertainment. The quality of the acts was at times astounding and the three staff judges had an exceptionally difficult task in selecting the six finalists. It was then up to the audience using the tried and tested 'clapometer' technique to make a final decision. In the end, it proved impossible to separate Gabby Martin (who produced an astonishing vocal performance) and Ademide Adenaike (human beatboxer extraordinaire) and the competition ended in a tie. Our joint winners then rounded the evening off with an amazing impromptu musical collaboration which earned an uproarious standing ovation.
Everyone involved in the event deserves great credit. Special mention should go to our two compares Abby Bertelsen and Izzy Taylor who hosted with great humour and energy: Ant and Dec beware! Also to Chris Littlefair and Sam Kleeman as the masterminds behind the show who did a hugely impressive organisational job. The show raised over £900 for the Rosie Campaign and Addenbrooke's Abroad charities.
