The Perse School

Simon Clamp Memorial Football Match

On Saturday 14th April The Perse 1st XI played an Old Scholars’ XI for the annual charity match in aid of the Arthur Rank Hospice. The event was organised by Freddie Clamp (OP) who also captained the Old Scholars’ team.

It was a very competitive and closely fought encounter. The match eventually finished 2-2 after 90 minutes. The depleted physical condition of the referee and most of the Old Scholars made extra time impossible so the match went directly to a penalty shootout, with The Perse XI winning 5-3 on penalties. The match was very well supported by Old Perseans, school staff, families and friends of the players and a significant amount of money was raised for the hospice.
