Cayley Olympiad success
Following their success in the Intermediate Maths Challenge, 14 Perse pupils were invited to take part in the Cayley Olympiad, a mathematical challenge which is aimed at those in Year 9. The pupils have two hours in which to solve six tough problems, testing both their ability to find a method for solving the problem and then to provide a full and clear solution.
Three of our students did exceptionally well: Alex Harris scored 59/60 and Anthony Kattuman and Renzhi Zhou both scored 58/60. This put them in the top 50 of Year 9 nationally and they have each been awarded a book prize and medal. Congratulations also go to Richard Geng and Year 8 pupils Thomas Read and Pratap Singh who achieved Distinctions, and were awarded medals for being in the top 100. The remaining students all did very well to receive Merit certificates.
This is the best result for The Perse in recent years and all of our pupils who took part are to be warmly congratulated.
