The Perse School

Book Review Competition

Last week a competition involving over fifty students in Years 7 and 8 reached its conclusion with a battle of the book reviews in Lower School History Society. The Year 7 and 8 students were challenged by their teachers to write a review of a historical book, novel, documentary or film that they had recently seen. Over fifty students entered and the entries were remarkable for their analysis and insight as well as for spotting historical inaccuracies that many people might miss.

Martha Jones (Year 7 ) and David Lee (Year 8) were runners up with their reviews of Anne Frank and the BBC documentary Bullets, Blood and Bandages. The overall winner was Nick Krasic (7M) who impressed with his thorough historical analysis of the film Gladiator.
