Medals for Under 11 girls’ hockey team
Girls at the The Prep scooped second place at their first ever Eastern County Regional In2Hockey Tournament. They faced some tough competition at the Under 11 girls’ hockey tournament, playing many teams that had previously beaten them. However, after a full day of fighting hard, The Prep team was awarded second place and rewarded with runners-up medals.
The competition involved five games for the girls' team. St Faith’s were the first opposition, resulting in a draw. The girls then secured 0-0 play casino draws for games with both King's and Wisbech and a win against St John’s, final score 1-0. The last game of the day was against pre-tournament favourites Kimbolton, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
James McCaughran, Director of Sport at The Prep, said, “This is a fantastic achievement and we’re very proud of the girls. The hockey coaching team has worked tirelessly with the team over the past year and the girls have responded with dedication and passion. We’re looking forward to great things from them over the coming season."
The team will now go onto the next stage of the tournament which will take place after Christmas.
