Curwen Print Study Centre
6 Oct 2011
The Year 11 GCSE Art pupils recently attended a Print workshop at the Curwen Print Study Centre at Chilford Hall.
The Art department has established annual links with the Print Centre which teaches traditional and contemporary printmaking skills to artists and students.
Whilst having access to the facilities within a context of a professional studio the pupils embraced contemporary printmaking skills while extending the use of media developed within the classroom. The work produced was in support of the curriculum with finished pieces of work and/or development material for sketchbooks and portfolios. Their visit was enriched by the opportunity to work alongside professional printmakers/artists.
All pupils immersed themselves within the morning and afternoon sessions, experimenting and combining Dry Point Etching & Mono-printing processes.
