Pint of Perse with Ben Wingfield

Over the Rainbow: Music and the LGBTQ+ Experience
The Perse’s Director of Music, Ben Wingfield, explores how musicians have made sense of the LGBTQ+ experience through time. How has the language of music freed artists to explore aspects of LGBTQ+ life – and what, if any, obstacles are there to this pursuit? Can a piece of music, in and of itself, be considered ‘queer’? The talk will also explore the rise of, and current discussions around, queer musicology.

Wednesday 8 June, 7pm BST.
Lecture Theatre, The Perse Upper School.
And streamed via Zoom.
