Community Lecture – From the Big Bang to Homer’s Last Theorem
Date: 20 Nov 2017, TBC
Location: The Perse Upper School, Hills Road, CB2 8QF
Following the success of the 400th Anniversary Lecture Series, The Perse holds regular Community Lectures at the School.
The next lecture will take place on Monday 20 November, when science writer Simon Singh will take us on a whistle-stop tour through the bestselling books that he has written over the last two decades. Fermat’s Last Theorem looks at one of the biggest mathematical puzzles of the millennium; The Code Book shares the secrets of cryptology; Big Bang explores the history of cosmology; Trick or Treatment asks some hard questions about alternative medicine; and Simon’s latest book (The Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secrets) examines the numbers in the world’s most popular TV show.
The lecture is free of charge and open to everyone in the community, whether or not they have a connection with The Perse. Due to capacity restrictions, entry will be by ticket only. Tickets for the event are available online here.
If you have any questions about the lecture please contact Erin Charles at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone at 01223 403808.
