Supporting our Community
About us

Outreach and Community Partnerships
At the heart of our values is a commitment to help every student understand how they can use their knowledge, time and skills to benefit the wider community, both locally and on a global scale.
School Outreach
Our students and staff work with 23 primary schools around Cambridge leading a wide range of projects that benefit local children.
Current projects include:
- Maths mentors for children at 15 schools.
- Funding group music lessons at Fen Ditton Primary School.
- Reading and literacy projects at Bourn Primary.
- Computer Science lessons at The Galfrid School and Bewick Bridge Primary School.
- Science projects at Harston and Newton Primary School
- Providing weekly hockey coaching to children from 10 local schools.
From working with these schools, pupils learn new skills and equally importantly, they feel they learn to reflect with humility on their privileges and the responsibilities these bring.

Partnership working
We have also been partnering with some secondary schools and FE colleges.
Helping a school in Hertford advising on the maths, music, sport and PE curriculum.
Supporting a school in Norfolk by assisting in the creation of their economics department and facilitating one of their students joining our maths STEP extension lessons digitally.
Supporting Long Road Sixth Form College in their UCAS process, specifically with guidance sessions for the most competitive courses and preparation interviews for Oxbridge applicants.

Showing we care
Each year we donate over £40,000 to a wide range of charities.
Our Pelican children love dressing up to support Children in Need, while Prep children put their red noses on for Red Nose Day.
At the Upper, pupils regularly sleep-out to raise funds for Emmaus and collect Christmas gift shoeboxes for Link to Hope. More recently pupils took part in the Colour Rush raising funds for Pencils of Promise and WomanKind Worldwide.

Christel House
In 2011 we formed a partnership with Christel House Schools. This charity transforms childrens’ lives by building and running learning centres in some of the world’s most deprived communities.
The charity was set up in 1998 by two philanthropists Christel De Haan and Ron Haylock (former Perse pupil). Today Christel House runs educations programmes across the world in countries including India, Jamaica, Mexico and South Africa.
We support Christel House by deploying our teachers and students to share expertise and experience, raising funds and participating in joint educational projects. One of our teachers is also a trustee of Christel House Europe.
