We are licensed as a Tier 4 sponsor by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) and offer Child Student visa sponsorship for Sixth Form entry only.
The Perse does not have any boarding accommodation. All guardianship arrangements must be arranged either with Cambridge Guardians or Cambridge Guardian Angels. Please contact them directly for further details.
For Sixth Form entry only, we are able to accept applications from students who require Child Student visa (previously Tier 4) sponsorship, and a small number of sponsored students join our Sixth Form each year. Applicants must be 16 years of age on entry to the Sixth Form.
To apply for Sixth Form entry, applicants must complete and submit a Child Student visa sponsorship registration form before the registration deadline.
All students will be required to sit the entrance tests. Some students may also be required to sit subject tests, in addition to the interview and entrance tests. Please contact our admissions office for further information.
Students for whom English is a second language must also prove their proficiency in English by taking an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test prior to the Perse Entrance Test Day. Students are required to achieve an overall score of 6.5 in the IELTS test, with a minimum of 6.5 in each of the listening, reading, writing and speaking sections, for admission to The Perse. You can find your nearest IELTS testing centre here.
Please note that sponsored students who receive an offer of a place are required to pay the first year’s course fees in advance.
Procedure for September 2021 entry
Overseas testing has been put in place for 2021 entry due to the current travel restrictions in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. It is still our preference that candidates attend testing at The Perse in person and are encouraged to do so where possible.
Testing will be permitted at a British Council office only and would need to be arranged between 21 and 24 November 2020 for Sixth Form entry and 16 and 19 January 2021 for Year 7 and Year 9 entry.
If applicants are unable to attend for whatever reason, we regret we are unable to progress their application.
Stage One: Registering
Please complete the relevant registration form for Lower Sixth entry or Year 7 and Year 9 entry and indicate within the residency section if you would like to test overseas.
Registration will close at 12 noon on Thursday 15 October (Lower Sixth entry) and 12 noon on Sunday 1 November (for Year 7 and Year 9 entry).
Stage Two: Confirmation
After the admissions office has received your registration form, they will forward our overseas testing form for completion and request payment of the overseas testing fee (to cover the additional cost of testing and interviewing securely overseas).
Stage Three: Assessments
Entrance test papers will be released to the appropriate British Council office. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom for Lower Sixth entry by 27 November 2020 and for Year 7 and Year 9 entry by 22 January 2021.
