Exam results

At IGCSE and AS/A2 level the A*/A rate is very high across all languages and detailed statistics are shown on the page for each language.

University entrants

A number of our students go on to pursue Modern Languages courses at some of the UK’s top universities.  Some choose to combine their study of a foreign language with a subject from another discipline, while others opt to take up a language ab initio.  Among the successes of 2011, a former Persean graduated from the University of Cambridge with a starred First in Modern and Medieval Languages and a Distinction in the oral component.

Competitions

In recent years we have entered students for the Advanced category of the UK Linguistics Olympiad.  This is not only open to MFL students in the Sixth Form but anybody who has an interest in Linguistics as a discipline in its own right.
