Trips and exchanges

We believe in the importance of bringing a language to life by spending time in a country in which it is spoken.

The French Experience (Year 8)

This is a four-day trip to Normandy towards the end of the Summer Term. Mornings are spent in French lessons, and there is a range of outdoor activities and visits arranged for the afternoons.  Around 40 pupils take part.

French Exchange with Paris (Years 9 and 10)

In 2005 we established a link with Notre Dame de Ste Croix, an independent Catholic college/lycée (with pre-prep and prep sections on separate sites) in Neuilly-sur-Seine, a western suburb of Paris just two métro stops from the Champs-Elysées.  In 2011 our pupils visited Paris for a week in October, staying with French families and spending two days in the French school.  The French pupils will stay with their Perse partner in Cambridge in February 2012 for a similar period and will spend two days in school.

In addition we offer penfriend links to pupils in other year groups so that they can, if they wish, organise personal exchanges.
