Drama
What will your child study?
All members of the Lower School (Years 7 and 8) and of Year 9 cover Drama modules as an integral aspect of their timetabled English lessons. In Year 7, regular Drama lessons are taught by a specialist teacher. All members of the year group also take part in staged performances as part of the annual Year 7 Arts Festival in November. Drama texts covered in Years 7 and 8 include:
- A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Shakespeare)
- The Merchant of Venice (Shakespeare)
- The Canterbury Tales (Chaucer – modern stage adaptation)
- Frankenstein (Shelley – modern stage adaptation)
How will they be assessed?
Drama assessment is informal and ongoing.
