Exam results

Below is a table of the Design & Technology department’s most recent results.

AS level A*-A 86%
A level A*-A 75%

University entrants

Those studying A level Technology typically choose Engineering at the top universities. We have a strong history of Oxbridge Engineering entrants with three students gaining a place in 2011.

Competitions

Every year a high number of Sixth Form students are awarded highly prestigious national Arkwright Technology Scholarships. This scholarship carries a financial reward for each scholar but more importantly aims to link students with local engineering companies for work experience. We currently have five Arkwright Scholars in the department, amongst the highest number of any school in the country.

The Perse Rocketry Society operates out of the Technology department.  In 2011 a team entered the UK Youth Rocketry competition for the first time. Following a successful qualification flight the team won a place in the national finals. Despite not winning the competition, the society goes from strength to strength and we hope for a better result in 2012.

Lower down the school we aim to get more involved in competitions. In 2011 a team of Year 9 pupils entered the Cambridge Rotary Technology challenge and won a prize for innovation with their solution to the problem.
