Latin
Trips
We run school trips to Greece (2012) and Italy (2013). Pupils studying Latin can benefit from both trips, as many of the myths, stories and cultural influences spread from Greece to Italy and later, Roman rule brought significant Roman influence to Greece. Some photographs from our 2011 trip to Rome and the Bay of Naples can be seen below.
Ludi Scaenici
This annual competition between schools from across the east and midlands sees pupils in their first two years of Latin donning togas and tunics, performing short Latin plays in the original language, with notable judges, often scholars from Cambridge University, awarding prizes to the best performances.
