Biology
The overall aim of the Biology department is to ensure that each pupil reaches their potential whilst studying Biology and to provide a caring, supportive environment in which they can achieve this.
To facilitate this we aim to:
- Stimulate the natural curiosity of pupils and develop their enjoyment and interest in Biology
- Explore the various aspects of Biology and enable pupils to appreciate the importance and value of these in society
- Enable pupils to develop a sound understanding of scientific method and encourage safe practice within the laboratory
- Enable pupils to develop the essential knowledge and understanding of concepts along with the skills required to apply their knowledge during examinations
- Develop and maintain positive teacher-pupil relationships built on mutual respect and an understanding of individual needs
