The school is committed to providing high quality and healthy food options for its pupils.

Light refreshments are available at morning break and at the end of the lunch hour in the pupil cafe.

Lunch is compulsory in Years 7 and 8 but optional thereafter. Pupils in Year 9 and above may bring packed lunches.

School lunch is served in the main hall and comprises of:

  • The main counter – serving a choice of three hot main meals cooked on site daily from fresh ingredients. A selection of hot and cold desserts is also available.
  • A pasta and jacket potato bar – serving pasta and jacket potatoes each day with a choice of hot and cold fillings and toppings; this counter also has a salad bar with a selection of cold meats, vegetarian options and salads, and a selection of cakes and cold desserts.
  • A sandwich bar – serving a selection of sandwiches and filled rolls.
  • A selection of fersh fruit (whole fruits and slices of fruit) is available from all counters.

There is also a deli bar serving baguettes, wraps and paninis open to Sixth Formers at lunchtime in the pupil cafe.

The Upper is not a nut free zone but very few item contain nuts and those that do are clearly labelled.
