Drama
The department aims to take an Upper Sixth production to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival each summer. Pupils perform for one week at Venue 45 (just off the Royal Mile) and are able to round off their school drama careers in style by soaking up the atmosphere of this unique and exciting cultural experience.
In recent years the Perse Players have been awarded ‘sell-out’ status at the Fringe. Most recently, the production of Steven Berkoff’s The Fall of the House of Usher wowed large audiences with its nerve-jangling brand of gothic horror. In the summer of 2012, the department will be taking a student-written adaptation of Camus’ L’Étranger to the Fringe.
