Most Politics lessons take place in the Economics and Politics Room, adjacent to the Sixth Form Centre. The room is well-equipped with video projector, interactive whiteboard, video and audio equipment, and five flat screen computers with broad band internet access. Additionally, there is a growing Politics Library and access to a variety of periodicals. The main school library also houses as variety of newspapers, periodicals and political books.

The emphasis within the department is very much on contemporary political issues and events and pupils will participate in a number of visits during the course with a particular emphasis on vists to Westminster to hear prominent politicians. There is an active, pupil run Politics Society which organizes guest speaker visits from a variety of local and national political figures.
