"See The Perse School in action!"

An Open Day is the ideal way to see the wide range of opportunities a school has to offer. Parents and children get to see what goes on and the range of activities and subjects available. All current staff and pupils participate, providing an insight into the vibrant atmosphere at The Perse. The Head gives two presentations during the morning to which all parents are invited.

We are an HMC day school for boys aged 11 to 18 and girls aged 16+ in a co-educational Sixth Form. We will move to full co-education from 2010 onwards, offering places for girls at 11+ and 13+ as well as in the Sixth Form. The Perse seeks to combine academic excellence with a wide range of extra-curricular activities and opportunities. It has some of the best examination results in the United Kingdom, regularly featuring among the top schools in the country in national league tables at A-level.

The Perse is committed to providing a balanced education. Sport, music, drama and art flourish alongside a wide range of extra-curricular activities including a thriving Combined Cadet Force, Scout Group and Community Service Scheme. The School's charities scheme supports good causes both locally and overseas and pupils take part in a wide range of competitions including public speaking, economics, and engineering technology. The excellent facilities provided by the Sports Hall are enjoyed by many local clubs, and there is a wide range of sporting options available for boys and the Sixth Form girls. Whether it is a field trip to Yorkshire, an exchange to France or an expedition to Ecuador, enrichment of the curriculum is provided throughout the year.

The Perse takes good care of its pupils. There is a very supportive pastoral system under the direction of Heads of Lower and Middle schools and Head of Sixth Form. In the Lower and Middle school, tutor groups are small (usually 12) and older pupils and prefects play an active part in mentoring younger pupils. The majority of pupils take part in the ISCO careers scheme and Sixth Formers are assisted with the university entrance process by experienced and knowledgeable staff.

During the Open Morning guided tours will be conducted for visitors by pupils. Visitors who want to see the school on another day can be escorted by a senior pupil and can meet with admissions staff. For those considering A-levels at The Perse, there is a special Sixth Form Open Evening.

The Perse is easily accessed by public transport and road (see our contact details). On Open Day a minibus service will be provided to perform regular shuttles between the school and the car park area off Long Road which will be sign-posted on the day.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Perse.
