The main points of entry are Year 7 (96 places), Year 9 (around 50 places) and Lower Sixth (70 places).

Occasionally places may become available in other year groups, and parents are welcome to contact the Admissions Office to enquire about these.

Financial assistance is available for families on a means-tested basis. This ranges from 5% to 100% of school fees.

Applications for places in Year 7 and Year 9

All prospective parents and pupils are encouraged to attend our Open Morning which gives an excellent overview of what a Perse education has to offer. Our next Open Morning is Saturday 25th September, 9.30am - 12.30pm.

We also suggest that prospective Year 7 and Year 9 parents and pupils make an appointment to visit the school.  The visit will consist of a 30 minute pupil led tour of the school which provides an opportunity to see the school in action, and to find out from pupils what life here is really like.  The tour is followed by a 30 minute meeting with the Head or one of his Deputies. To organise an individual visit, please contact the Head's PA on 01223 403800.

Parents wishing to apply for Year 7 or Year 9 entry should do so by completing a registration form by the 31st December in the year prior to entry.  All applicants will be invited to sit the school's Entrance Tests and attend an interview. We will also seek a reference from the applicant's current school.

Our Year 7 and Year 9 Entrance Tests for entry in September 2011 will take place on Saturday 15th January 2011

Music scholarships are available to Year 7 and Year 9 pupils.

Academic scholarships (non means tested) are awarded to the children who achieve the highest marks in our Entrance Tests.

Applications for places in Lower Sixth

Prospective Sixth Form applicants are encouraged to attend the Sixth Form Open Evening on Monday 8th November 2010, where they will have the opportunity to talk to current students and teachers.

Students wishing to take their application further should complete a registration form, personal statement and provisional subject choices form and return to the Admissions Office by our closing date of Wednesday 24th November 2010.  All applicants will be invited to attend an interview at the school in early December and we will seek a reference from the applicant's current school.

Any offer of a place would be conditional on GCSE results. As a guide, we would expect a student to achieve a minimum of 70 points at GCSE (counting an A* as 10, A as 8, B as 6 etc) with at least an A grade in the subjects they wish to study in the Sixth Form.

Students may apply for Academic, Art, Music and General Sixth Form Scholarships.

Overseas students will also be required to sit an Entrance Test at the school on Saturday 4th December 2010. If their first language is not English, they will also be expected to have achieved at least 6.5 in IELTS.

We will only consider Sixth Form applications from overseas students if the applicant resides with a parent or legal guardian in the Cambridge area. All guardianship arrangements must be approved by the school.

Students applying after the closing date will be considered in a second application round with interviews in January, provided there are still places available.

Prospective pupils with disability

Subject to the physical constraints of our buildings, we welcome applications from prospective pupils with disabilities.  However, it is very helpful if parents can discuss any disability with us in advance of visits, Open Days, entrance tests and subsequent entry so that reasonable adjustments to our systems and procedures can be made.
