First in the region

The Perse has an outstanding track recording in helping its students secure places in highly selective universities.  An independent report published by the Sutton Trust in 2011 identified the top 100 schools in the UK for the proportion of university applicants accepted at highly selective universities, and placed The Perse thirteenth in the country and first in the Eastern region.

In the academic year 2010-11, 30 students gained places at Oxford and Cambridge, 18 at Medical School, and three at elite overseas universities.  Our percentage success rate for medical applications was 72% and for Oxbridge 50%; this compares with an HMC independent school average figure of 30%.  In total, 164 Perse applicants received 564 university offers in 2011 for subjects ranging from Anthropology to Zoology.

Specialist advice

Perse students make successful applications to top universities because of the quality of their exam results, and the depth of their preparation.  We employ a team of seven specialist university application advisors and students receive both detailed generic advice on how to complete application forms, and tailored one to one support with interview preparation, submitted work, pre-admission questionnaires, and international applications.  Our team of skilled university advisors collect detailed information on the latest changes to university selection criteria to ensure Perse pupils are always well briefed and prepared.

With Sixth Form Year Groups of 160, The Perse is large enough to support an excellent university application infrastructure and sustain a critical mass of exceptional students who create a vibrant learning environment, whilst also being small enough to ensure each and every pupil is well known and supported.
