One topic of the specification is eyewitness testimony. One of the experts in this field is Elizabeth Loftus. She has her own website which has lots of articles to read. You can listen to her being interviewed for the BBC radio series The Mind Changers.

Another topic is based on the work of Simon Baron-Cohen who suggests there are differences between the male brain and the female brain in what he calls empathising and systemising. Take the EQ test and the SQ test for yourself at and bring your scores along when you start the course at The Perse and we will tell you what they mean.

The Body Dysmorphic Foundation has a good website and downloading and watching the video ‘too ugly for love’ will give you an insight into this fascinating illness. The December conference we attend has Rob Willson as a guest speaker who is the Clinical Psychologist in the videotape.

Doing the tests, watching the video and reading about eyewitness testimony (as above) will help you to decide whether Psychology is for you. If you want even more, visit the British Psychological Society ‘Research Digest’ where you can browse some of the latest research all presented in an easy-to-read format.
