AS level
Most of our students opt for the A level course, Advancing Physics (OCR Physics B). This course places the Physics in a variety of contexts, technological, historical and cultural.
- AS G491 Physics in Action - digital imaging and communication, materials and microstructures, sensors and electricity.
- AS G492 Understanding Processes - wave and quantum effects (Feynman’s many paths approach), Newtonian mechanics, quality of measurement.
- AS G493 Physics in Practice (coursework) - the first component involves experimental work with an emphasis on the quality of measurement and inference from data; the second consists of a presentation on the use, properties and structure of a material in a context chosen by the student.
