It is important for students to keep their French ticking over in the holidays, particularly during the long summer break.

It is particularly vital to try to listen to a little French almost every day – just 10 or 15 minutes is enough.  The following is just a selection taken from the French department’s list of good websites on our sharepoint homepage:

  • One of the best radio news internet sites is RFI (Radio France International)

Twice a day RFI produces two news bulletins in simpler French (go to “journal en français facile” on the menu on the left-hand side of the page.).  As well as listening to the bulletins, the transcript of the broadcast can be read on-line or downloaded (click on “lire le script”).
