Form teachers, who work closely with the Head of Pastoral Care, are the first point of pastoral contact and are readily available to talk to both pupils and parents.
Form periods provide an excellent opportunity for group discussion when pupils can talk with their form teachers about a wide range of topics not necessarily connected to academic work.
There are also plenty of opportunities during the school day when pupils can arrange to have a private word with their form teacher.
Form teachers are also involved in delivering some curriculum subjects to their forms, hence they are able to observe classroom interaction.
In addition, form teachers are responsible for monitoring general academic performance.
