Welcome from James Piper, Head

James Piper

It is with pleasure that I invite you, through this website, to get a glimpse of life at The Prep.

I hope that it will give you an insight into the rich and varied life of this successful co-educational school of just over 280 pupils. There is, however, no substitute for a visit and I always welcome the opportunity to meet parents personally and show them the school during term time.

The Prep possesses outstanding classroom and creative arts facilities, first rate sports fields including an Astroturf and extensive play areas.

Our pupils thrive on challenges, both inside and outside the classroom and the school has strong sporting, musical and dramatic traditions. Excellent pastoral care is at the heart of our work and ensures that our children feel completely at ease and secure in their surroundings.

The qualities of a Perse Prep education were recognised in the 2010 ISI Inspection Report which concluded that we offered an ‘outstanding’ education.

I very much hope that you will visit us; it is through observation of our pupils at work and at play that you will experience the happy and purposeful learning atmosphere that characterises The Prep.

The Prep has been BBC Radio Cambridgeshire’s ‘school of the week’. Listen as presenter Jeremy Sallis discovers the School and has fun with pupils and staff.
