The Perse Pelican Sports Awards

We were delighted to welcome the Glenn Kirkham to The Perse Pelican for our first official Sports Awards Ceremony!

Glenn is the current England Hockey Captain and he participated in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, where the Great Britain hockey team finished 5th. He told us about his work and then awarded over thirty proud Pelicans with their certificates and stickers. We were amazed by the children’s achievements in such a wide variety of sports including ballet, gymnastics, swimming, kung fu, tennis, football and cycling. After the awards Glenn kindly gave some of the older children a coaching session and he was very impressed with their hockey skills!!!
