The Perse Pelican is part of The Perse family of schools that includes The Prep and the Upper. They offer continuity of education from 3 - 18. The three schools have separate sites which allow them to cater for the specific needs of different age groups, whilst at the same time benefiting from the curriculum and pastoral coherence that comes from being part of a larger unit. Many parents also appreciate the practical benefits of having all their children in schools with one set of term dates and a co-ordinated approach to major school events. (Please note that The Perse School for Girls is a separate organisation.)
I am inordinately proud of The Perse Pelican and am gratified that we have earned a reputation for providing all round excellence. We have been inspected regularly by OFSTED and ISI, who both praise our work, but the comment which gives me greatest satisfaction is that our children are observed to be 'happy'. If children are happy they will learn. To enable them to be happy in their work they must know that they can succeed and that their efforts will be appreciated. This requires the staff to be skilled in setting realistic targets for them and motivated to provide a stimulating learning environment.
The quotations on our home page are taken from letters received from parents and also from recent leavers. So that you can judge the school for yourself, however, I would like to extend a warm invitation to you to visit us. We fully understand that the choice of a school is a complex matter and we are here to help. There will probably be a number of significant questions in your mind and whilst our website may provide some of the answers, we really do prefer to talk with parents direct, so please do not hesitate to get in touch.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
