Vision and mission
Our vision
To be an exceptional school of international standing
The Perse is a historic school, and in its near 400 year history it had gained a national reputation for academic excellence and extra curricular achievement. Its alumni include two Nobel Prize winners for Science, the literary critic F.R Leavis, the Theatre director Sir Peter Hall, and guitarist Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd.
The Perse is an ambitious school determined to do the very best for its pupils.
How will we achieve this?
To realise this vision, we will:
- achieve academic excellence by the provision of a challenging curriculum, outstanding teaching, and a culture of intellectual curiosity and independent learning
- provide a supportive pastoral environment which meets individual needs, and promotes the development of happy, considerate pupils
- offer a rounded education, rich in extracurricular activities and international opportunities, which facilitates the acquisition of life skills and encourages both participation and individual excellence
- ensure equal opportunities for all in a cosmopolitan meritocracy with a commitment to access and social mobility
- encourage the appreciation of the spiritual dimension to life, and the development of a sound moral framework
- promote continuous institutional improvement through high quality professional development
- deliver and promote an integrated 3-18 education
